As a specialist in practice for 15 years, I have become quite comfortable with client communication. When approached to take this course I was initially skeptical but enrolled knowing there is always room for improvement. Just as we update our diagnostic and treatment recommendations to align with evolving medical evidence, this course provides an evidence-based approach for updating our communication style without becoming formulaic. The course provided a rare opportunity for direct performance feedback with implementable suggestions. I am quite happy I chose to complete the WISE COACH Communication Foundations training and would recommend this CE course to any colleague.

I can’t say enough praise for this course! So few of us get ANY exposure to anyone’s professional communication style (other than the teeny bit we’re often afforded in vet school) other than our own….it’s so easy to think we’re doing an outstanding job, when we actually have significant room for improvement. Even though role playing and watching videos of ourselves and colleagues can seem uncomfortable, it is by far the most effective way to see our strengths and weaknesses. While I’ve certainly learned some of these lessons organically through the years of my career, this course allows those insights and adjustments to be made over a much shorter time period…this can have a huge positive impact on our careers as veterinarians.
This course gave me a lot of confidence in knowing that I am doing okay! It reinforced the fact that for me, interacting with the clients is what makes the job interesting on a day to day basis.
A great refresher or starting point to help with client engagement. Don’t let the live sessions intimidate you, it is a safe space.
